EMDR Intensives

Deep, focused healing—in a shorter amount of time.

EMDR Intensives are designed for individuals who want meaningful therapeutic progress without the weekly-therapy model. Intensives allow us to work in extended, structured sessions so you can move through stuck points more efficiently, with dedicated support and a regulated, contained process.

  • An EMDR Intensive is a concentrated therapeutic experience that uses the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy model in an extended format, typically half-day or full-day sessions over 1-3 days.

Instead of spreading treatment over months, intensives offer a focused, accelerated path for working through trauma, stress, and long-standing patterns that feel “stuck.”

During an intensive, we spend more time preparing your nervous system, identifying themes, and processing memories in a way that allows deeper continuity, fewer interruptions, and more rapid momentum.

  • EMDR Intensives may be a good fit if you:

    • Feel stuck in recurring patterns, triggers, or emotional reactions

    • Have single-incident trauma, or want to address a specific issue (e.g., a breakup, work stress, a medical incident)

    • Already have a primary therapist but want supplementary EMDR work

    • Are a helping professional seeking targeted processing or burnout recovery

Many clients choose intensives when traditional weekly therapy does not feel aligned with their schedule, goals, or season of life.

  • Intensives are especially supportive when you:

    • Have a clear goal or issue you want to work through

    • Want deeper, sustained sessions without stopping mid-process

    • Feel emotionally prepared for focused trauma work

    • Have been in therapy previously and have developed some skills and strategies to manage distress

If you’re unsure, a consultation can help us decide together.

  • Full day (6 hours of EMDR) - $1200

Half day (3 hours of EMDR)- $600

A 50% deposit will be required to confirm your Intensive reservation, and the remaining 50% will be paid on the last day of the Intensive.

Because intensive sessions require significant preparation and dedicated time, deposits are non-refundable

  • Under federal law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your mental health services. You may request a Good Faith Estimate at any time. I will provide one before we begin services, or whenever your treatment plan changes.

EMDR Intensives are not for everyone.

To ensure safety and effectiveness, intensives may not be appropriate for individuals who are in acute crisis, experiencing unstable mental health symptoms, actively using substances, or who need ongoing weekly support to maintain stability.

During your consultation we’ll explore whether an intensive is the best option for you or whether a different level of care would be more supportive.

The EMDR Intensive Process

EMDR Intensives are designed to provide a structured, regulated, and deeply supportive environment so you can move through meaningful work at a pace that’s impossible in traditional weekly therapy. Here is an expanded breakdown of the process.

  • 1. Free 20- Minute Consultation

The process begins with a complimentary 20-minute consultation.

    This conversation allows us to:

    - Clarify the concern or single incident you want to address

    - Determine whether an EMDR Intensive is clinically appropriate

    - Ensure the intensive format is a good fit for your needs and readiness

If we mutually agree to move forward, we will discuss next steps for scheduling.

    To reserve your intensive dates:

    - A non-refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of booking

    - Intensive dates are held only after the deposit is received.

Remaining balance is due on the day of the intensive.

Because intensive sessions require significant preparation and dedicated time, deposits are non-refundable.

  • 2. Assessment & Preparation

Following the consultation and prior to your intensive, you will be asked to complete a set of secure intake forms and clinical questionnaires. These materials allow for thoughtful preparation and help ensure the intensive is structured, focused, and clinically appropriate.

    This step includes:

    - Completion of a detailed clinical history related to the identified issue

    - Use of standardized measures (such as the PHQ-9, GAD 7, ACES, DES-II, and other relevant screening tools)

    - Review of current symptoms, stressors, and internal resources

    - Clarification of treatment goals and readiness for EMDR processing

This information is reviewed before the intensive and is integrated into the assessment process, with additional assessment and preparation continuing during the intensive session itself.

  • 3. The Intensive Session

Using EMDR therapy, we will target the identified incident or issue through structured phases of processing.

    Sessions include:

    - Reprocessing distressing memories

    - Addressing associated beliefs, emotions, and body sensations

    - Integrating adaptive information and insight

Breaks are built in as needed to support regulation and integration.

Sessions are paced collaboratively and adjusted in real time based on your nervous system’s responses. The goal is not to push through distress, but to support effective processing within your window of tolerance.

The length of the intensive (1–3 days) and the amount of processing completed will vary depending on individual needs, history, and response to EMDR. Time is intentionally reserved for stabilization, containment, and integration so the work can conclude each day in a grounded and supported state.

  • 4. Closing, Integration, and Regulation

We end each intensive day with a structured integration process so you leave grounded and supported.

    This may include:

    - Reflection on shifts that occurred

    - Gentle somatic techniques to help the brain settle

    - Supporting your nervous system back to baseline

    - Future template work (imagining yourself responding differently in the future)

    Developing a personalized aftercare plan

  • 5. After the Intensive

EMDR processing can continue to unfold after the intensive sessions conclude. It is common to notice emotional, cognitive, or somatic shifts in the days or weeks that follow.

After the intensive, you will be provided with:

    - Personalized recommendations for post-intensive self-care

    - Regulation and grounding strategies to support your nervous system

    - Guidance on what to expect as processing continues

    - Suggestions for journaling, rest, and pacing as your system integrates the work

You may notice changes such as increased insight, emotional release, vivid dreams, shifts in mood, or periods of fatigue. These responses are a normal part of integration and are discussed prior to the completion of the intensive.

When appropriate, recommendations for ongoing or follow-up therapy will be provided. EMDR Intensives are not a substitute for long-term therapy, and additional support may be beneficial depending on your needs and goals.
